The Montgomery County Natural area Guardians were formed as a committee of the Montgomery County SWCD to preserve, manage, restore, and educate the public to the value of natural areas in Montgomery County.
WHO WE ARE
The Montgomery County Natural Area Guardians was organized in 2005 as a committee of the Montgomery County Soil and Water Conservation District, organized exclusively for charitable, scientific and educational purposes.
OUR GOALS
The purpose of the Organization is defined in the following mission statement:
To Provide an organized means for locating, and preserving natural areas and open lands in Montgomery County, including encouraging and aiding landowners to wisely manage natural areas and open lands, promoting and providing educational programs concerning natural areas and our natural heritage, and obtaining funding to assist with management of natural areas and open lands.
Activities taking place on the land may include, but not be limited to, environmental education, recreation including hunting and fishing in accordance with Illinois Game laws and other activities traditionally associated with open lands.
